Phase 4: Urbanus - Contrast City

The classification of what is Black and what is White in Paris. The monuments in Paris are shown according to the timeline of their historical importance. The planning of the city itself is monumental, visualizing the linear axis through monuments which frames each other. The white are the generic buildings of services, which is different from Bangkok especially there is no parking space provided. The image is the transition space, which gives a feeling to space.

The Black Box acts as an infrastructure that covers the monument and frames the city. The box is expand through the corners, where the joints would connect to the permanent structure inside. The outer shell could be change through time. This gives a contrast the monument and the city, in which the material and structure also plays a role. The feeling it gives to enter the box and feel enclosed can emphasize one perception on the box and monument, as the steps are for one to be able to see the monument in every angle possible. The gap provides a connection to the outside as it frames the city and create new experiences.

The white covers the base of the buildings which contains the parking. It is to create a new network for the car to enter and pass, using the infrastructure as a path to go from buildings to buildings instead of using just the road. It also provides stairs for pedestrian to pass through and elevators to get up the building.
