Architectural Element and School Design



“If Learning architecture is about learning from other practices to be able to construct our own argument should architecture school provide the space that let student learn best from each other?”



Main idea is to give a platform of new social interaction space to promote the communication network
which i believe in paradigms of learning community in architecture school.



“Architecture school should promote cooperation, influence, competition and inspiration”



I am trying to change the spatial relationships between tutors, the students themselves and the surrounding community by using infiltrate space to promote.

The communication system has been changed from a vertical to a horizontal one, so that the core of the school works more like a street, where everyone is allowed easy access to each of the studio units.


The street is the core of the school and acts as a void between teaching units and supporting facilities, such as a library, workshops, small lecture theatres and break rooms. The street also act as a infrastructure where social interaction taking place.


From the existing spacial arrangement, there is obstrucle which obstruct the path walk wish also obstruct the interaction between floor program and between department.
The problem is public path are disconnected

The new infiltration spacial arrangement are based on existing program as constraints (existing program and structure). Starting from analysis the spatial relationship of the existing building in order to be able to rearrange the new program, i choosed to focusing on agents relationship (flow and its hierarchy) and then developing the new program program rule based on this agents relationship.

From the program which require privacy such like meeting space are placed far off the main circulation to distance away from intensity area of people which mean density of noise level also.




/Tectonic

In designing tectonic i then use the hexagon truss system which is 

1) light weight (self support)

2)quick fabrication (digital prefabrication)

3)see through promoted visual networking between space(less blocking light and vision create visual connection to spaces). 


Which then challenging to develope the tickness of the truss related to the area where more support need this rule based tickening are based on the new program and circulation path to be able to hold this program up at different height weight support and load system are being use as a rule based constrain.

Try to use this rule based as starting point to be able to conceptualy design each element for the building from a large scale to small scale element like slab, flooring, ramp, bridge to a partition or wall to a funiture scale like table or chair.

The structure are duplicated near the loading area so the pipe are tickening to support the load. The load are varieable related to it supported program load parammeter for example load of chair and load of floor.















so the final proposal are very blury as the structure are very translucent and the idea of open plan which create a continuous space.
