In order to deepen the site analysis, the following map presents a catalog of the different types of material that can be found in an area of about 1km around the Riverton Service Apartments, Soi Sukhumvit 13. This maps shows the route I took along the streets looking for construction material, the punctual harvest points and the demolition sites, where the resources are various and abundant. Demolition sites are very strategic, because they are planned, and generate a maximum of waists that don’t, if unmounted correctly, need to be to much processed before reuse. The quantity of these waists, of course, is very important too.
Also shown on the map are the typologies of buildings that correspond to a certain social class :
- The agglomeration of small built form are associated with informal communities, who has been practicing the reuse of material as a way of living, nothing is lost, everything transforms.
- The larges forms close to the main road are financial buildings, generating big amount of profits, like malls, or offices.
-Medium typologies along secondary roads, especially the touristic one, are usually resorts, hotels or condominiums, characteristic of a western way of life.
This type of map have the ability to be updated, showing the construction waist poles throughout time.
