Shopping mall is one kind of entertainment that occupied most of the areas in Bangkok. Since Bangkok has high amount of shopping malls, the competition between each one is the most interesting idea to follow.
The map above show the famous shopping malls that located along the Sukhumvit road which separated into 3 layers of information. The first layer on top is the program arrangements of each shopping mall that focusing on food areas, hotel, business areas, cinema and special activities.
This diagram shows the parking areas of each shopping mall and also the road direction to the parking lot. Since there are only some of the shopping mall has the connection directly to the bus structure and some are not therefore the diagram also shows the distance between each shopping mall.
The pink areas inside the shopping mall is the location of each shop and the white space with dots pattern shows the pathway or corridor of each shopping mall. The pathway is only performed one floor to be the example of the circulation inside.
Site plan map shows the 5 territories which are Siam, Pratunum, Chidlom, Asoke and Prom Phong. The blue and yellow colors indicated the land owners as having 2 big owners that are Chulalongkorn and Royal Family. Moreover the map also shows the owner of each shopping mall such as The mall group, Siam Piwat, etc.
The image shows the proposal idea along the Sukhumvit road which most of the famous shopping malls are located. There're 2 different connections to the new level of pathway that shows underneath the bus structure. The first one is the connection to the entrance of each shopping mall and another one is the connection along the Sukhumvit line. Red Towers are showing as the landmark to indicate zoning since the exterior of every shopping malls have been covered by the Yellow Facade.
