Re-archipelagos: " KOH PHAYAM COMMUNTY BONDING "

Koh phayam island populated in tourist who seeking a quiet and nature surrounding. The island has beaches that are peaceful and pristine, not well-known for foreigner tourist. For my design y select Ao-Mae-Mhai bay for my site project, which is now the main pier at Koh phayam. There is small community of friendly Buddhist islanders on the island Mostly cashew nut farmers fisherman and moken. People in this island get around the island via a small cement road which is capable of accommodating motorcycles only. That means there is no car on the island. Koh phayam is famous in cashew nut because here produce the best cashew nut in Thailand. My project is to design for better quality of life for Koh phayam community.

Re-archipelagos : KOH PAYHAM

Koh Phayam is part of National Park of Laem Son. Located on the southwest of Thailand in the Andaman Sea, the island has many sealife and fauna, which attracts some tourists. Indeed, a local community is still living in depended of all resorts. For my design is to develop the pier's community for better quality of life of people who live in this island. Starting from finding the attraction point and then zoning into 4 areas or 4 kind of piers, link it together by using the common space.

Site Analysis & Program Development; Ko Phayam - Localities Matter

Koh Phayam

Koh Phayam is part of National Park of Laem Son. Located on the southwest of Thailand in the Andaman Sea, the island has many sealife and fauna, which attracts some tourists. Indeed, a local community is still living in depended of all resorts. To preserve this environment, the island begin to adopt sustainable systems as solar panels, water treatment, wind turbine, dam, seawge managment.
After the tsunami they also put alarm tower, as we show on island model at 1/10000 scale. To continue to preserve the environment and improve the sustainable system in Kho Phayam, we propose in our model at 1/200 scale, as a solution, to link all resorts, which are the biggest part of pollution in the island, with sustainable power. Therefore, installing solar panels on the roof of the resorts, use more water treatment, and put wast sorting could permit to re-use the garbage and produce less pollution. To maintain the landscape, the system could be under the ground. The idea is that resorts could consume less than the energy they use thanks to these sustainable power.
