Asoke Pier New Station

The water transportation is one important way of communication

in the city like a network in the urban patches. It has been running

from many decades ago since we still have a lot of canals and waterways

 around the city. In the present day, boat transportation still existed in some

main canal inside the city, which was used a lot by people every day.

In the beginning of the design phase we have imagined the scenario of

our architecture and environment that could be formed in the design.

The thought of this project was depicted in the way of having the development

or renovation on the current location of boat station along Saen Saeb canal.

It also acts as the public space where people can enjoy their free time and

do exercises as the outdoor gym too.

Canonical perspectives

Nature changes

The situation nowadays made the climate change over time.

In this case, the water level could be increased a lot in near future

and it would become kind of semi-wetland everywhere around

the rivers and canals. In that way, plants and some animals could 

appear again after have not seen them for decades from the past.

the situation that mentioned above.

Actions through architecture

This picture shows the idea of human force and nature force(the sun

at the back) that create some source of energy to architecture as well as

architecture serve the function to people or users.

Manipulating Architecture

Due to the rising of water level that could happen, this picture also

depicted the idea of having kind of adaptable architecture that would

be changed according to the nature change in the future.

The Structure

The Design Phase

This Design phase will be like a pilot project or the example

of the development that could be expanded in the future with different

sizes of architecture according to its specific site. The project will

start from the overall picture and eventually go deeper into details 

of the structure at the end.

Exterior perspective

With overall picture of the project, it will become like a station that

appear along the canal and try to not really spoke-out to the context so much

that it could still blend in wi the surrounding

In this floor, the main function will be the area for people that will

enter the boat and also waiting and buying the boat ticket.

First Floor plan

This floor will be the floor that connects directly to the bridge and it

will be the public space that people can come and take time and relax

from the hurry routine of the day. It also has the space for asking information

and area for commercial aspect like the market space

Second floor plan

This floor will be full public urban park that allow people to rest and

lay down in the space.

Third floor plan

At this level, it will be like a exercise space for outdooe gym that will

provide the space for people to do the equipment exercises and also

the multi purpose space where it could become the dance floor.

This section mainly focus on the connectivity between the context and

its architecture that connected together. It also mentioned the idea of self-sufficient

that play a big part in this building, which are the sun, wind and water powers.
