The water city
In the Paris’trip,I mainly focused on the layers of the city ,including the overground and underground,water and land ,underground and the water system.Also,the edges of them are attractions to me.Therefore,I made a record about the underground transportation system and the river sides.And then I began to think about the elements that lead people to move and interact with each other and finally made a taxonomy about Paris.
Then,when we went back to Bangkok,continuing the studies before,I began to look the canals and the existing water system of my territory in details.Here,I used the sections to study about the scales about the canals,the band,houses on the river sides and the bridges. As we can see,the main problem here is to deal with the connection and intersection of the land and water.However,according to the special condition of Bangkok,it is difficult to built a underground system with layers just like Paris ,therefore,mechanism began to be considered as the main solution in this design to discuss about the bridges.Meanwhile,it is also important to improve the conditions of the canals and the surroundings to make it attractive places for tourists to experience and go into the heart of the history and culture of Bangkok. Therefore,I also considered about the urban elements which can cultivate the activities,such as the berth, public toilets,vendors, the bicycle rent and so on.Taxonomy in Bangkok is thus mainly about the infrastructure, including bridges and water gates on the canals ,and the elements which can be inserted into the riverside to provide the opportunity for people to interact with each other.To make all of these into a consistent system,I tend to construct a flexible structure which can also be adapted in different places of the canals .For the public service that I want to supply ,I will choose to consider them into units on different scales but also can be adjusted.

For the users,it may be more like a game ,in which they can make choices from the selections and then make their own combination, according to different places and their interests. Due to the flexible structure and the consistent adjustable units,it is considered to be easily changed according to different time,seasons and purpose.Different to the vast riverside and wide river in Paris,the space in Bangkok above the canals is very narrow, therefore,the mega structure is also used to creat more vertical space for the citizens.To this extent,not only can it solve the mess of the ground and activate the water system,but also it can creat more opportunities and nice space for the social activities.
